Jackie Dodds

Jackie Dodds is a Brooklyn-based movement artist, performer, choreographer, and teaching artist from the Jersey Shore.

She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from East Carolina University, with a Composite Natural Science minor and an Entrepreneurship Certification. Jackie trained in a triple-track program of ballet, modern, and jazz, and continues to pursue concert contemporary work alongside Broadway performance.

Jackie has trained nationally and internationally, including at the American Dance Festival Winter Intensive in New York City and abroad in Nairobi, Kenya—where she worked with Cooper Rust at Dance Centre Kenya and Artists for Africa—as well as at Henny Jurriëns Studio in Amsterdam. She has performed throughout New York City at venues and festivals including the Martha Graham Studios—home of WestFest—as well as Bloom Emerging Artists Showcase, GroWorks, Snapshots Dance Exchange, Sparks Theater Festival, Somasoup, University Settlement, and the Steps on Broadway Industry Showcase, where she performed work by Tanner Lane.

She currently dances with RLJ Dance Works under the direction of Rachael Lieblein Jurbala. In the past year, Jackie solo-traveled through four countries exploring dance and cultural exchange, completed a residency at Lake Studios Berlin developing her work Specifically Oranges, and has performed her solo work in a variety of settings, from traditional stages to rooftop spaces. Her work is driven by curiosity and versatility, with interests that span styles, spaces, and communities.
